A striking vintage French demijohn featuring a hand-blown green glass vessel protected by its original handwoven wicker basket. Dating to approximately 1960, the generously scaled bottle has a broad, rounded form, a large opening at the neck, and wonderfully rich green coloring.

Traditionally used for storing and transporting wine or other liquids, the surrounding basket was designed to protect the glass while making the vessel easier to handle. The original labels and packaging remnants add to its authenticity and old-world character.

Beautiful displayed on its own as a sculptural object, this substantial piece would also make an impressive floor vase or decorative accent in a kitchen, dining room, wine cellar, or garden room.
