This mid-Qing blue and white porcelain vase is decorated with double happiness patterns, the body of the vase is decorated with cobalt blue underglaze flowers, and there are double happiness symbols on the front and back. Since ancient China, blue and white wedding jars have been very typical and common objects. Although most of them belong to private kilns, it is not easy to preserve them well. In Chinese weddings, covered wedding jars are custom-made and placed in pairs on the table as decorations. They are very meaningful items. Today it is also the first choice for new collectors of ancient Chinese porcelain. c.1821-1850

This vase dates 1821-1850 during the reign of Tao Kuang. Prince Mienning assumed the name Tao Kuang meaning 'Splendour of Reason' when he took the throne.
